The Driver CPC, EU Directive 2003/59 means that all professional PCV drivers who hold a full, valid category D, D1, D+E or D1+E licence at 10th September 2008 will need to complete 35 hours of periodic training by 10th September 2013. All professional LGV drivers who hold a full, valid category C, C1, C+E or C1+E licence at 10th September 2009 will need to complete 35 hours of periodic training by 10th September 2014.
Both classes of drivers will need to undertake 35 hours of periodic training every subsequent five year period in order to retain their Driver CPC. The training in generally broken down into 7 hour blocks.
Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Chamber of Commerce member, Reynolds Recruitment Limited is accredited to deliver compulsory LGV classroom based training to LGV drivers to meet the requirements of this directive. Their training facility in Attenborough, Nottingham caters for 14 trainees and each course includes refreshments and lunch.
